My number 1 'go to' book for the year ahead, astrologically. LOVE THIS BOOK!!

Mr. Polansky's yearly book is one that I have sought out and bought every single year for the last 10 years. It's been spot on in my life, and I find it a really valuable tool for looking forward, and seeing what's coming on the horizon. The last few years I've even purchased it by pre-ordering it before it's even available……it's THAT good. As soon as I get it, I sit down and read the year ahead section, the general overview, which is really helpful….and then I go through the month by month sections for both my sun sign and my rising sign. I absolutely love this book and I highly recommend it.

Misleading, and a waste of time and money

Save your money. First off, you need to know your Rising Sign (Ascendant) for this book to be of any use at all. If you are, say, born with Sun in Leo, and you read that section for its prognostications, but your Rising Sign is other than Leo, you won't gain any benefit. What the author has done is simply placed your Sun sign -- in this case Leo -- on the Ascendant, and is interpreting the planets in the other houses accordingly. But if you have, say, Pisces rising, then all of the placements and prognostications for Leo are wrong. You need to read the Pisces Sun sign section to get an accurate placement of the planets. That said, astrology is much more complex than what this book is giving you. I have studied it for many, many years -- you need an accurate birth chart (go to Astrodienst website and you can calculate and print it for free), you need the up-to-date progressions for that birth chart (one day after birth = one year of life, etc.), and then you need to superimpose the transiting (as they now exist in the sky) planets on top of that to get any kind of reasonable assessment of what the year ahead will hold.
